It Was All a Dream: Finding Yours

Self-love is at the heart of being successful and living your dream. Without self-love, you won’t have the confidence and the discipline to be what you want in life. When you take the time to invest in yourself, whether it’s learning a trade, earning a degree or just being happy, you are performing an act of self-love. When you are full of doubts, when you lack confidence, things may not work out the way you want them to.

You have the power to wake up every day and to say to yourself I am worth it. Self-love is integral to dreams. Exercising self-love and exuding that positive energy on yourself will help everything else fall into place.

Self-love involves knowing that you are like no other. From your hair to your nose to your feet to your eyes no one is like you. No one has your exact dream in life. So, comparing yourself to others is pointless. You can’t do it like them, and they can’t do it like you.

Finding your dream is all about doing something you love. Find something that you’re good at doing. It’s about finding your passion.

Everyone has a dream of what they want in life. It could be a particular lifestyle, wanting to live in a specific home, it could be wanting to be part of a great group of friends or that you want to be happy. Whatever it is that you want or dream about in your life, you can attain it, and self-love is the key. Now you may say “Yeah right, that only happens to people on TV or in a band or people that come from a lot of money.” You may have never imagined yourself living the life that you want to live. If you’ve never believed that, how do you expect to get it?

The first part of having a dream is to imagine one. Imagine it to the most detailed experience. What do you want to do with your life? You may be young, and thinking I don’t need to think about this right now. I have the world ahead of me; I have so much time to think about what I want to do. But have you noticed that successful people are getting younger and younger? Many young people have taken technology and used it to their advantage in living their dream. And you may say well, that’s not me, I could never do that. But we’re here to say, yes you can.

Your dream involves passion. Once you become passionate about something and you love the idea, and you love the thought of being able to experience it, that’s the first step in having a dream and living your dream. What is it that you like to do? Do you like photography? Do you want to be an actor? Do you want to fly planes or write a blog? Whatever it is you, love, you need to start with a plan so that life doesn’t pass you. Having a dream and a plan makes life so much easier because you actually can prepare your to-do list and create a set of goals that you can work towards achieving every day. Would you get into a car with no map or GPS if you didn’t know where you were going? That’s how life can be, like driving a car. If you don’t have a set itinerary, you could be lost forever and waste valuable time. In today’s digital age it’s important to visualize what you want in life.

It’s essential to dream of the life you want, even when we age and it appears too late to start something new. You could be sitting at work staring at four walls of your cubicle waiting for 5 o’clock to come and hating every minute of your workday, only to get off at five and start the whole process all over again. Maybe you have some desire or dream hidden deep down inside you that you’ve tucked away because you just never had the confidence or the determination or the resources to make it happen. Even if you have never lived your dream, the fact that you did have a desire deep down inside speaks volumes. The first step to living the life that you want is identifying your goal. That makes you who you are.

Dreaming is activating your creativity. It’s enabling all of the positive energy that you have stored inside. Dreaming about your life is like taking a paint brush and imagining how you want your life to be. Take a journal or any digital app and start to make categories for your life. Create folders for the different aspects of your life and how you would like them to be. If you want to have the best health and fitness, create a folder on how to achieve it. It could be taking nutritional supplements and researching the best ones. It could be a workout routine and making sure that you exercise each day. It could be increasing the amount of water that you drink. Now move on to your school or career. Do you want better grades? Do you want a raise or promotion? What job do you see yourself doing? Write about it. You see, when you’re dreaming, you are the artist. There’s no one in the room to tell you that you can’t do that or you can’t have what you want. You are practicing self-love at its finest. Make a folder for your dreams. Find out what network you’d like to work for or what show you’d want to produce. Do the research to engulf yourself in that field. It’s your dream.

Your dream is your launching pad for life. You have the power to start right now. With the power of technology, you can research anything that you want to do and have that information to you in seconds.

Some of us have already achieved a level of success, but that doesn’t mean we stop dreaming. Your dream in life should always be a journey and a never-ending one. If you’re happy, you should want an even more joyous journey. You should want your life to bloom and to grow and never become stagnant.

Your dream could involve giving and charity. That’s something that you would never want to end. Your vision and your journey could include finding new ways of giving to charity and feeling the joy in giving. There are ways to evolve in any dream.
